Not long after we announced price reductions on our Wedding Packages for 2020, the Plewis family called on District12 Photographics and booked us for their August wedding. With most of the wedding packages, an engagement shoot is included and this was a key selling point to the package they selected.
With a rush on having the photos done quickly, we booked our session for early December to ensure they could have their photos for the Christmas season. Not only was the shoot the utmost importance to them for that reason, the Plewis’s wanted to send out their save-the-date and wedding announcements cards to their friends, family and colleagues over the holiday’s, too.
We shot at a location in Shawnessy called the Barn. It’s a beautiful suburban location with a typical red barn one would see on a farm but has been converted into a hall for dances, receptions, fundraisers and more. It is part of the Shawnessy Community Association, surrounded by natural trees and grasses.
Although this was an engagement couples shoot, the Plewis’s asked me to shoot a couple photos with their fur baby and young boy. We quickly and creatively shot the family photos before focusing on the beautiful couple.
The day was brisk and chilly, but the fresh winter air allowed a lot of love to come from Madison and Nathan. It was important for me to capture the moment and not pose the photos, allowing the candids to come naturally. Of course I gave some direction to ensure we captured the shot otherwise, what I captured with the passion and emotion the couple shared together with one another.
